Using IPad 3, with iOS 9.1 - audio podcast speeded up with conversation almost indecipherable. Used to be able to adjust speed via 2x and 1x however these options seem to have disappeared with last software update.
Any suggestions to return audio podcasts to normal speed?

Try tapping the screen where the playback control should be. Also you can ask Siri.
If you don't see the screen that Bobseufert shows in his reply, pull up on the name of the currently playing podcast shown at the bottom of your screen and the new screen with the speed adjuster will slide up.
